Straighten up your emotions before they consume you. There are many treatments for depression and anxiety in the market. You just have to find what works best for you.
What is Depression?
Depression is a universal term that is being used for feeling sad or being in a low mood. Most people feel such emotion, but it becomes potent when the sadness becomes too much or if the feeling of being low becomes unbearable; this is when it becomes clinical depression. This state requires someone who is suffering from such disorder to seek professional help.
It is normal for you to have butterflies in the stomach once in a while, depending on the situation that you are in. But sometimes, you get into situations that become too stressful to handle; that's when the anxiety becomes a disorder.
When you suffer from such malady, your emotional, cognitive, behavioral and somatic components are combined to elicit the feeling of fear, nervousness and too much worry. These thus affect you with bodily commotions such as heart palpitations, nausea, chest pain and head aches.
Although they are different, depression and anxiety are, most of the time, treated in the same method. It is also said that a great number of the people who suffer from depression also put up with anxiety. Remember that treating such behavior would depend on the person suffering from it and to what extent they are dealing from such.
Your doctors would be the best person to tell you what type of treatment are best suited for anxiety and depression. Antidepressant drugs are given to those suffering from either of the two.
There are also therapy sessions that your doctors could guide you with to help you cope with your state. This will aid you to overcome the low point in which you are in and calm you physically until everything comes back to normal.
If you are just starting to feel the depression or anxiety, or if you are into the healing stage, there are recommended relaxation techniques and exercises to help maintain your balance and focus.
And lastly, for those who suffer from depression and anxiety, you should watch out what you eat because there are chemicals that trigger such emotions. Be careful in picking what you consume into your body.
Finding the best treatment for your depression and anxiety is not that hard, as long as you start now. After all, the most important thing is to beat the blues before it beats you.

Is my dad mentally ill or is it just his personality? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
When my dad was a child, his mother walked out on him, his brother and his father, being pregnant with another mans child. His father turned alcoholic and my father grew up a broken childhood and was neglected.
He had been getting treatment for depression and anxiety for twenty years now, but nothing seems to be working and we think it may be something more. He was once diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, but it was never noted down. He's been on alot of different tablets; anti-depressants, anti-anxieties, mood stabilizers, anti-pyschotics, the lot.
His symptoms are, Extreme Paranoia, mood swings (eg. mania, depression) the mania is just silly moods where he'll be happy, believe he can do anything. He'll sometimes stay up all night, but will be very tired the next day and sleep all day. He sleeps as much as he possibly can and is still always tired. He verbally abuses my mother and is very controlling. He doesn't believe that he has to do anything because he's 'special' Like, he doesn't do any housework or anything like that. He can get suicidal. He criticizes everybody and cannot deal with any amount of stress. He's pushing everybody in our family away and is pretty much hating on my mother. It's been twenty years now - we just don't know how to cope anymore.
Today he went to the doctors and came back with fluroxetine. He's been on them before and they did not help. He's pretty much just given up on his life. Does anybody have a clue what might be wrong with him? At the moment, he's been diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, but we think it's something more. The last couple of weeks, he had just went down and down and his life just seems to be spiraling out of all control. Would getting him admitted to hospital for proper treatment help? If so, how do you go around that?
He was once diagnosed with Bipolar, but it was never really noted down.
Thank you in advance!
sorry if i've repeated or misspelled a couple of things!

An Army National Guard Question? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
I ship to basic training in a couple weeks. I went to the hospital yesterday morning after I had a severe anxiety attack or panic attack. This was my second one in the past 2 months. Either way, it was emotion and stress related. After being in the hospital and being tended too, I was asked many questions about how I am mentally and my habits in life. After I answered the questions, my doctor said that it sounds as though I am depressed, have some anxiety, and definitely have an alcohol abuse problem. He recommended I seek treatment for depression and anxiety, as well as help for alcohol. Obviously he's not a psychiatrist, but he is a doctor and he said he is only recommended because I have all the signs.
*None of these things were really created by me joining the National Guard, it has been going on for a few years now.
I joined the army to get me right, but the doctor thinks the Army would not be a good position for me. He thinks I need to be discharged and seek some help for my problems. Now, How do I go about doing this? Should i call my recruiter and tell him exactly what I just said here?
I am finally going to man up and face the fact that I have a problem, mentally and especially with alcohol.
Any help would be great! I know a lot of people don't understand, but when you do feel this way, life is confusing and just really messed up. I want to get it under control. I may think Im having a good time, but im really just hurting my self and my future.

Anyone have been taking klonopin(clonazepam) long term successfully? (Answers: 4) (Comments: 0)
For anxiety problems. Which i have. Social and GAD. I've been taking klonopin for 3 weeks 2-3 mgs a day, and had no side effects yet. It works well for anxiety issues. I'm starting a relationship with this really beautiful and smart girl now, and i can finally act like myself - talented, passionate, empathetic. I am familiar with most of the drugs there are. Tried almost all of them. Legal, which i prescribed for myself as a treatment for depression and anxiety, and illegal which i used to have fun. And non of them, which include amphetamines, opiates, cigs and alcohol did not made me addicted - mentally or physically. Strange, but my body works this way. I can drink every day for a few weeks straight and stop without any cravings. But i am well aware that benzos are one of the most addicting things you can find, and that is the reason why i ask this question. My body and mind never failed me before, and not that i am scared now, but hearing some success stories would not hurt. And by long term i mean a couple of years or so.
